Design Project- 3D Map of Grand View's Campus
For a class project one time, we had to create 3D maps of our school campus. We did research into 3D shapes by first looking at shapes online, then printing out a map of our campus. After that we traced it and built it up using legos. Once we understood the logistics of it, we set out to build our maps in illustrator. We started with flat images and then built it up into 3D shapes based on our lego blocks as a guide.
The goal of the project was not to come out with a finished map, but instead to get an idea of how building 3D shapes in illustrator worked to apply it to future projects.
