Geologtea Branding & Packaging Design
Geologtea is born out of my love for tea and to reduce packaging waste.
The loose leaf tea would come in a variety of flavors to begin with and then later on could be reused with whatever flavors you want.
Crystal Structure and Bag
The tea crystal design would act as a mug cover to keep tea warm and a reusable tea bag would be attached to the inside. That way while your tea is steeping, it keeps the tea warm. I imagine the material might be made out of aluminum or a similar material.
For this project, I started out with a crystal die cut. The first prototype was made out of regular paper, the second out of purple card stock, and the third out of metallic card stock. The tea bag I sewed myself although due to the nature of paper, I decided not to attach it to the prototype although I did provide a shot of it sitting inside the crystal.
Logo and Branding
For the logo, I wanted to base it off of the crystal with the tea inside of it, illustrating the idea. Going back on it later, I now think my original idea was not original enough. I would like to go back and redo this at a later time.
For the colors, they are a royal purple, a dark blue, and silver. These colors are associated with magic and crystals, which I think would help lead to the association. I would like for people to find peace when drinking tea.
Packaging in Stores
When placed on store shelves, I think it would have to be placed upside individually on shelves. Unless I created extra packaging so that they could be stacked on top of each other. But I believe that would defeat the purpose of reusable packaging.
